DESMOPOL NOW HOLDS AN ANTI-ROOT PROTECTION CERTIFICATE

This certificate provides guarantees for the use of the membrane in the construction of the so called green roofs now ever more widely seen in urban architectural projects.

In 2014, together with the Eduardo Torrojo Construction Science Institute, we began formal testing procedures to assess the root penetration resistance of DESMOPOL polyurethane membrane in accordance with the EN-13948 standard (system included under ETA 10/0121).

The obligatory two-year testing was recently completed, in June 2016, showing perfect results with no root penetration through the DESMOPOL membrane.

This certificate provides guarantees for the use of the membrane in the construction of the so called green roofs, now ever more widely seen in urban architectural projects.

Green roofs are used to convert roofing areas into authentic aerial gardens, providing significant benefits for the cityscape as a whole, as well as the users and inhabitants of the buildings concerned. In addition to their pleasing appearance, they are also a healthy addition to the urban environment. This type of roof can help improve energy efficiency, reducing consumption in heating and air conditioning, as well as offering excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties.

At TECNOPOL we have proven experience in the construction of environmentally friendly roofing systems. For more information, please contact our technical department.
