The UNE -EN 1504-2:2005 entitled " Products and systems for the protection and repair of concrete structures " is the European approval provides identification, benefits ( including aspects of durability), security and evaluating of products and systems conformity to be used for concrete superficial protection, in order to increase the durability of concrete and reinforced concrete structures, both for new concrete structure or maintenance work and repair .
Surface protection methods covered by this standard are:
- Hydrophobic impregnation
- Impregnation
- Coating
The quality control of the production of repair materials and evaluation of the repair works execution are also defined in this standard parts .
These approvals will help manufacturers, engineers and applicators to successfully complete the repair and protection in different concrete structures.
The European Union introduced the UNE -EN 1504-2:2005 mandatory on January 1, 2009 . These standards define the work required assessment and diagnosis , the necessary products and systems including their behavior, alternative procedures and methods of application , together with quality control of materials and work .
