Primer EP


Two-component, fillerized,100 % solids, epoxy resin

Primer EP-1010 it’s a two-component, 100% solid content, epoxy resin-based including solid charges. Specially designed as a primer to increase adherence and repair substrates on mortar, concrete or ceramic tiles for flooring resins as TECNOFLOOR and TECNOTOP,  or waterproofing systems TECNOCOAT  and DESMOPOL. 



Epoxy resin to be used in the following situations in TECNOFLOOR, TECNOTOP, TECNOCOAT and DESMOPOL systems:

  • Specially designed to increase the adhesion on concrete, mortar, or ceramic tiles supports.
  • Self-leveling application (thick coat)
  • Also used as a resin mortar for concrete support preparation (adding Silica Sand)

  • High fluidity allows for a quick and easy application of the product.
  • High penetration and sealing on support.
  • Excellent adhesion to concrete or to mortars
  • Epoxy aromatic, 100% solids, odorless, and solvent-free resin. Do not add water or any solvent.
  • Usual coverage as a regular primer, by short nap roller: ±150 to 200 g/m2
  • Usual coverage as a self-leveling (reparation mortar) system, by squeegee: ±300 to 500 g/m2
  • After 7 days, coming to a cured material total. Preserve the direct contact with water or other reagents until this moment.
  • The PRIMER EP-1010 should be applied in dry conditions avoiding the presence of humidity or water coming from the surface to be coated or the substrate (max. 4%), whether at the time of application or subsequently (pressure from phreatic water level).
  • Primer EP-1010 has filler but is possible to add Silica Sand (mixing ratio resin:silica= ±1:4)

12 months for each product at temperatures between 5° C and 35° C, provided it is stored in a dry place. Once the tin has been opened, the product must be used immediately.



  • The concrete slab must be clean, compact, and free of loose particles, grease, oil, cement laitance, curing liquids, or other treatments such as silicones or damaged paintings.
  • The surface must be with the pore opened, it is essential to start work with treatment and subsequent shot blasting dust sucked. sanding, therefore, is not recommended rough and open-pored surface ensuring anchoring the primer is sought.
  • The concrete has to be more than 28 days old or maximum moisture content of 4%.
  • Do not apply PRIMER EP-1010 on concrete with exudations of water or in areas where the inside water may affect the adhesion of the system components.
  • Both temperatures, environmental and support, should be at least 3 higher than the dew point at the time of the application, so the risk of condensation is reduced.


  • PRIMER EP-1010 comes in pre-weighed containers suitable for subsequent mixing proportions, partial mixtures are not recommended.
  • Pour the contents of Comp. II on Comp. I, and mix with a drill fitted with a stirrer at low speed until achieving a homogeneous product. Special emphasis on shaking the walls and bottom of the container.
  • In the case of adding aggregate, make the mixture described above first and, once made, add the aggregate to obtain a homogeneous product.


  • Apply PRIMER EP-1010 with the help of a squeegee or a trowel, self-leveling application used as a mortar, thick coat (300 - 500 g/m²).
  • In concrete or mortar substrates (rough), apply first of all a thin coat by short nap roll, (150- 200 g/m²)
  • Cleaning:  clean up with DESMOSOLVENT. Once cured, clean up only by mechanical means.


These safety recommendations for handling, are necessary for the implementation process as well as in the pre and post, on exposure to the loading machinery.

  • Respiratory Protection: When handling or spraying use an air-purifying respirator.
  • Skin protection: Use rubber gloves, remove immediately after contamination. Wear clean body-covering. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after work and before eating, drinking, or smoking.
  • Eye / Face: Wear safety goggles to prevent splashing and exposure to particles in the air.
  • Waste: Waste generation should be avoided or minimized. Incinerate under controlled conditions in accordance with local laws and national regulations.

Results were performed in the laboratory at 23ºC and 50% RH, under controllable conditions. These values may vary depending on the application, climatology, or substrate conditions.
